Dearest Prayer Warriors,

Debbie has recovered well from gall bladder surgery; no more strict diet! We have settled in the BBFI apartment here in Perú. (note the house warming pictures of a few of the folks who came.) We just praise the Lord for supplying in every area of life and ministry. A stateside eye doctor recommended that I see about wearing contacts to improve my vision. My eye specialist in Lima fitted me with lenses, with what I consider to be miraculous results. With soft contacts that are made especially for my eyes, I see better at long distance than I have for over 30 years. I will still have to get some bifocal reading glasses for preaching and working on the computer. Not bad, considering just 20 years ago I thought I would go blind one day. Just can not seem to “Praise the Lord” enough these days.
In August, Pastor Kirk and Kathy Bogard came on an encouraging visit. The baptismal robes will be a blessing. We reminisced of high school days back in Perryton. We kept them busy visiting churches, and both taught at a special two-day conference in Lima.  (Editor's Note:  Click any picture for a closer look; use your browser's back to return.)

Prayer Requests
At our open house (house warming), celebrating Gods provision, we had six people come who have never yet attended our church services. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will work in their lives so that they might be born into the family of God and become faithful in our local church.

For the past year we have been meeting, as a church, on the third floor of a three floor apartment building. The climb is really hard on some of our older folks. Soon we will move to the second floor which will help. Every Thursday night prayer meeting we ask the Lord to provide a first floor and more space for Sunday School and church services on the nearby main avenue. Please add these special requests to your personal prayer list.

Serving our Lord Together,

Max Harmon missionary to Perú since 1982
