Rev. & Mrs. Henry Mantonya
Missionaries to Amazon Interior Brazil

January 12, 2010

Dear Pastor & Co-Laborers in Christ,

We are so thankful for this new year, with new challenges, hopes and plans. First of all we praise the Lord for our life, the air we breathe, for restored health. The Lord has seen fit to bless us with a renewed desire to return to Brazil and continue the work He has allowed us to do there. After planting Bible Baptist Churches in Rondonia Brazil for 30 years, He has allowed us to have a part in Discipleship in an Indian tribe for the past 6 years! God is so good, and is always right! We are also thankful that you have had a faithful part in our ministry through your prayer and financial support. We love and appreciate you so much!

We are planning to return to Brazil sometime in June. At the present Henry is continuing post-op exams, which so far are turning out good. Also we'll be reporting to churches in this area and hopefully raise extra support for the Indian work. We are so thankful that our house is almost completed in the tribe, but we need more solor panels to have adequate energy for a refrigerator and a small air conditioner for extreme heat in the afternoons. So far the generator is pumping water, providing lights every night for home and church, and run the air for 3 hours. Flying in Diesel for the generator is very expensive. Bringing it in over water and land is difficult, and sometimes futil because the boat has tipped over many times losing all supplies. We have calculated that solar panels is the best source and in the long run more ecconomical.
Please pray for $6,000.00 that we need to liquidate the remaining expense of the Ultra-lite ($2,500.00) and solar panels ($3,500.00).
Also, please continue to pray with us about the work with the Jamamadi people, and the "Invisible People", that we will have a successful contact with them and be able to share Christ's love to them. Also for the 5 other tribes that have been opened to us. The Lord has given us many opportunities for evangelizing the Amazon Interior of Brazil, and we are so thankful

We love and appreciate you folks so much!
Henry and Nancy Mantonya
