"Will It Hurt?"
Our VBS for 2008 just
finished! I didn't want to have VBS this month. I called it off,
then decided that was just Satan fighting for the victory, so
after much battling, went ahead with it. The attendance wasn't
as high as we had hoped and expected - lots of people were
traveling, etc., but the results more than made up for it.
Railton is the six year old son of one of our young mothers. On
Monday, he told the teacher in charge of workbook/craft time,
that he wanted to be saved. So after everyone was dismissed, I
went through the plan of salvation with him. At the end I asked
if he would like to "ask Jesus to come into his heart" and he
very shyly looked up at me and asked "Will it hurt?"
After further explanation, and rewording, Railton "asked Jesus
into his heart"! He will have lots of spiritual help because his
mom and aunt are both faithful members of our church. His dad,
Ailton, isn't saved.
On the last day, Adriel, who is eight, raised his hand saying he
wanted to be saved. His parents were both saved at our church as
teenagers. His mom, Ida, is a Sunday School teacher and his Dad,
Manoel, helps with our music. This completed another family for
our church.
Francisley (10 yrs. Old) was saved the Sunday night after VBS.
His family is lost - this is the family who lost their father
several months ago and we requested prayer for them - his mother
and four teenagers. He has been "adopted" spiritually by a great
family from the church, who are neighbors of his family. They
have faithfully brought him to every service and will give him
lots of special attention to help him grow.
Please pray for these
three boys: (l-r) Railton, Francisley, and Adriel
Pray for Railton's lost Dad: Ailton
Pray for Francisley's lost family: his Mom
4 siblings 15-22 yrs. Old
Pray with us that the Lord will touch hearts and some of our
people will surrender to the ministry.
Railton agrees with me
now - IT DOESN'T HURT to be saved! Thank you for holding us up
in prayer!
Joyfully serving,
