Prayer Letter

September 2007

Dear Friends,

In last month's letter, I asked prayer for Rivelino. His wife, her mother and the couple's 11 year old daughter were saved some time back.

It was like you desire for each case, but seldom see: Rivelino would come occasionally. Then he began to come more often; then almost regularly, but not getting saved.

He kept coming. I preached sermons perfect for him, but he just sat there. Then, I was on the 2nd. Sermon on the book of Nehemiah. He and his wife came in very late. I'm hammering away on Christian responsibilities, and afterward he comes forward to be saved!! We later found out that he had come in from work late and told his wife to get ready that he was going to be saved that night.

We pray and work toward winning complete families in the church. With Rivelino's salvation, we now have 14 complete families in Christ, with a few exceptions of younger kids. We don't want to ignore the other families, complete with moms and children, but still having an unsaved husband and dad.

And of course, we deeply appreciate the individuals who have been saved but so far are not accompanied by their families.

Thank you for your prayers for Rivelino and please continue to pray for his spiritual growth! Now we have a new request for you . . . Sunday Rivelino brought his dad, José, to Sunday School. Please pray for his salvation and also that of his wife, Adelina.

Rejoicing,
Dean
