March 2010
Dear friends in Christ,
As you know I arrived back
in Perú on the 5th of December and as usual there has been much going on.
There are always small problems that await a missionary when he is absent
from the work for even a short time. We also have our youth camps the months
of January and February.
Let me bring you up to date as to what is
going on in the work here in Perú.
Bible Baptist Church in Pro is
where we are currently ministering: We are in the process of starting a
Christian School and have a month long pilot program in progress for
children from 3 to 6 years of age. We currently have 26 registered from the
area. The purpose is to see if there is interest for a Christian school in
this area. The response has been very positive and the need is great. There
are no Christian schools in this entire area with a population of 100,000
residents.
The new work in La Alaborada is advancing. We are in the
process of moving the existing pre-fabricated building onto the lot that was
purchased last year. We are praying that the Lord will provide us a sponsor
for a feeding center for the under privileged children in this area.
This week we will be signing the papers for the purchase of the property for
the mission work in Ensenda. Thanks to every person and church that had a
part in this needy project. The work is doing very well and we will soon be
starting a Christian School in this mission work, as well. We met with a
dedicated Christian lady this week that has a ministry helping evangelical
churches establish schools. Pray that this will become a reality and that
the Lord will lead us in making these important decisions.
The Lord
has given the mother church of Pro, a wonderful group of professional
people. We have members that are directors of private schools, teachers and
a good number of young men and women that are studying to become teachers.
There is a great need for Christian schools in Perú. In our Perúvian
Fellowship we only have two churches that have schools and they have grown
and expanded through the Christian educational program, reaching many
families with the gospel.
The feeding center in Gramadal continues to
reach families that have children enrolled in the center. They recently
renamed the church Manna Bible Baptist Church of Gramadal. The manna program
has been such a special blessing to that area and the need for more feeding
centers grows every year.
Please pray with us concerning the
decisions we will be making. What the Lord wants and plans, He will bless.
