Dear Pastor and
Friends:
These past three months have been very good months with the opportunity to
preach the Word in many of the churches we had a part in starting. I can
truly say that they are doing very well and continue to reach lost souls for
Christ. Being able to see so many that we won to the Lord still serving
faithfully after more than 30 years is very encouraging.
I just got off the phone with the national pastor that we support in Yungar.
As you may remember, that is the church we started in 1977. They have
started a Feeding Center there and now have ten children that receive lunch
five days a week. They are in the process of building a center that can
eventually handle up to 200 needy boys and girls. If you would like to send
a special love gift to the pastor or the work there, I will forward it to
them.
The mission work in Ventanilla has been able to do some much needed work
that enables the people to enter directly into the main auditorium instead
of down a long narrow hall. Thank you to
Kelview Heights
Baptist Church in Midland, Texas, that sent a special gift. The church
also sent money that was used to purchase 50 new chairs for the mission in
Gramadal. The Manna feeding center there feeds 60 boys and girls lunch five
days a week.
We started a work in the urbinization of Pro in 1979 and they recently
celebrated their 28th anniversary. The church has gone through a time of
trial these past three years. They had called a pastor who has, in lay man’s
terms, made a mess out of the church and has decided to resign. Since I am
at this time not pastoring, I have been approached about taking the church
again after so many years. I have prayed about it and know that it is the
Lord’s will. This will be the fourth church that I have accepted that has
been hurt. Thankfully it is not a case of moral failure this time but still
a great challenge. Pray for me as I have much to do to help restore the
credibility of the pastorate. It is much easier to start a new work, but I
believe that the Lord has given me the gifts for such a challenge. The truth
is no one wants to take a church that is going through these types of
problems!
Many of you sent us money to buy a better vehicle and I was able to buy a
used car from a missionary family that had left the field. It is in good
condition with much fewer miles and will serve us for many years to come.
Thank you for having a part in this blessing.
We covet your prayers and support for the ministry here. We pray God’s
richest blessings upon you for your faithfulness.
Yours in His harvest,
Leonard and Cyndy Myers
